HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - As students in Madison County got back into the swing of things on the first day of school, one school made it a little easier to wake up this morning.
Proud to Partner, is putting the pep back into student's steps for the start of the school year - and those at James Dawson Elementary got a very warm welcome.
"We're all about positive change, promoting positive change and answering the needs," said Dawn Bowles with Proud to Partner. "We can no longer sit back and wait for someone else to do it."
Proud to Partner was organized only three months ago, in May. Since then, the organization has met with Huntsville City Schools and James Dawson in particular to set students up for success.
"We're going to take it this route and see if our action towards success can breed success and not only help the students, but help the families and help the community in the northwest corridor," said Bowles.
In addition to the parade of success Wednesday morning, Proud to Partner is looking to further their reach in the future with other projects.
"If we start this now and continue with them by the time they get to middle school and high school they would already develop this sense of self and sense of purpose and sense of success," said Bowles.
Success is for everyone - the mindset Proud to Partner strives to instill in every Madison County student.
